Fiona Meridian: a line that runs through the entire wood

For the Meridian collection, we glue a single, two-millimetre layer of maple between the lamellas of walnut or smoked oak. The light line sits at the golden ratio of the wood's thickness and follows every curve of the Fiona from one end to the other. At the end grain you can see that it isn't applied on top, but part of the wood itself.

It's a detail known from fine furniture making and rarely seen on a light. From a distance, the Fiona looks calm and dark. Come closer and you discover the line.

Two woods, one line

  • Walnut with maple line: warm, deep brown with a lively grain, the light line adds a subtle contrast.

  • Smoked oak with maple line: smoky, cool dark brown with a strong oak texture, the line looks especially crisp here.

Ich habe mir die Lampe konfiguriert. Zuerst war ich unentschieden, ob ich ein Uplight wählen soll. Ich habe mich dafür entschieden, auch weil ich nach Rückfrage, ob es getrennt schaltbar ist, eine schnelle bejahende Antwort bekommen habe. Das Holzprofil sähe ohne das Oberlicht sicher eleganter aus, aber der Effekt des Lichts ist klasse. Ich freue mich jedesmal, wenn wir damit den Raum nur leicht beleuchten. Aber auch die Kombination von beiden Leuchtrichtungen ist klasse. Ich würde die Leuchte immer wieder so wählen. Tolle Lampe, toller Service und nettes Team. Wir haben die Lampe selbst abgeholt. Meine Pendelleuchte ist super verpackt angekommen, gerne habe ich ein wenig auf sie gewartet, ist ja schließlich hochwertige Handarbeit. Grundsätzlich bin ich sehr zufrieden, hätte mir allerdings für den Plafond eine ebenso geschwungene Form an beiden Enden gewünscht. So wirkt der Plafond im Verhältnis zur Leuchte ein wenig klobig. Wäre ganz toll, wenn das noch zu optimieren wäre. Ich wäre für einen Aufpreis bereit, , den Plafond gegen eine an beiden Einen geschwungene Form auszutauschen. Dann wäre alles perfekt. Dimensions & installation

How high should the pendant light hang above the dining table?

We recommend a gap of about 60 to 70 cm between the tabletop and the bottom edge of the light. This lights the table well without glare. In open-plan living spaces it can hang a little higher.

What length should my pendant light be?

As a rule of thumb, your pendant light should be 40 to 70 cm shorter than your dining table. If people sit at the ends of the table, go for the shorter option so nobody bumps their head when getting up.

What are the Fiona's dimensions and weight?

The Fiona comes in lengths from 120 to 195 cm, with a width of 4.0 cm and a thickness of 5.5 cm. The canopy measures 45 × 6 × 5 cm. Depending on the length, it weighs between 1.90 kg (120 cm) and 3.09 kg (195 cm).

How high or low can I hang the pendant light?

Upwards, the light can be pulled right up to the ceiling. The standard cable length is 2 metres. On request we can make a drop of up to 3.5 m, and beyond that with a thicker cable. Simply enter the length you'd like in the order note.

Can I still adjust the height after installation?

Yes. The pendant light is height-adjustable even after installation, either via two pins on the canopy for occasional adjustments or directly above the light for frequent adjustments.

Can I install the pendant light on a sloping ceiling?

Yes. The canopy can also be mounted on a sloping ceiling. You compensate for the different cable lengths using the height adjustment, so the light hangs level.

Can the cable be fed into the canopy from the side?

Yes. If your ceiling outlet isn't above the position you want, the cable can be fed into the canopy from the side, for example with a so-called cable swag, so the light hangs centred above your dining table.

How long does installation take?

The light arrives ready to install. Allow about 30 to 45 minutes for installation. You'll find the guide in our instructions.

Light & control

How bright is the Fiona?

The brightness depends on the length: 120 cm 2,530 lm, 140 cm 2,910 lm, 160 cm 3,300 lm, 180 cm 3,680 lm and 195 cm 3,970 lm. You can set the light colour continuously from 2200 K to 6000 K, and the colour rendering is over 94 Ra.

Is the pendant light dimmable and can I use my wall dimmer?

Yes, the pendant light is dimmable. You can switch it on and off as usual with your light switch. However, conventional rotary dimmers aren't compatible with the LED technology. For this we have our own rotary dimmer switch that connects to the light wirelessly.

Can I switch the uplight and main light separately?

Yes. With the uplight upgrade, the main light and the indirect uplight can be switched and dimmed separately, via remote control or smart home. Our instructions show you how.

Is the pendant light smart home compatible?

Yes, simply choose the ‘Smart Home’ option in the product variant above. You can then control the light via the Tuya app and connect it to Amazon Alexa and Google Home. Zigbee integration is available on request; please get in touch with us before you order.

Does the light remember the last setting?

Yes. The pendant light has a memory function and remembers the brightness and light colour, even when you switch it off at the light switch.

Why does the light have such a low energy class?

Since 2021 a new, much stricter energy scale has applied. Many LED lights rated F or G today used to be rated A+ or better. That doesn't mean they've got worse: LEDs in classes F and G are still among the most economical light sources available.

Wood, warranty & delivery

Which wood types can I choose from?

Depending on the model, the light is available in oak, smoked oak, walnut, ash and beech. Feel free to order our free wood samples in advance. Other finishes are possible on request; just send us a picture at kontakt@speicherart.de.

How do I care for the wood?

The solid wood is finished with natural linseed oil. Dust is best removed with a soft, dry cloth. To keep the wood looking beautiful for many years, we recommend our Ameno wood care balm.

Is the light source replaceable and included?

The LED light source is already built in, so you don't need anything else. It has a lifespan of over 50,000 hours and is replaceable, just like every other component. Replacement is handled by us or by a specialist electrical retailer.

On top of that, you get a free 5-year warranty on the light source worth €79, including shipping both ways.

Can I customise my pendant light?

Yes. In our light configurator you can put together your own pendant light, from the wood type to the length.

When will my light arrive?

You'll find the current delivery time above, below the basket button. We make individually configured lights especially for you, so the delivery time is usually 10 to 14 working days. We ship with GLS.

What happens if it's damaged in transit?

Please get in touch with us directly, ideally with a few photos. Together we'll quickly find a solution.

Can I return the light?

Yes. You have 101 days after receipt to return the light free of charge. Simply let us know in writing that you're withdrawing from the purchase, and we'll refund all payments within 14 days. The light should show no signs of use. More about returns
