We make our lights ourselves in our workshop in Kiel, Made in Germany. Selecting the wood, cutting, gluing, sanding, oiling, fitting the LED technology and the final inspection: every one of these steps is done by hand in our workshop.

Our smaller items, such as jewellery stands, key holders and knife holders, as well as the canopies for our pendant lights, come from a small family business in neighbouring Poland. We work closely with them as partners to ensure that every piece meets our quality standards.

To keep your light and home accessories looking beautiful for a long time, we recommend the following care tips:

1. Cleaning: Wipe the solid wood regularly with a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove dust and dirt. For lights, please switch off the power first.
2. Avoid moisture: Keep the solid wood dry and avoid excessive moisture. Standing water should be wiped up immediately.
3. Avoid direct sunlight: Direct sunlight can discolour the wood over time.
4. No chemical cleaners: Avoid harsh or chemical cleaners, as they can damage the surface.
5. Touch up small marks: If water stains or discolouration do appear, you can easily restore the area. Sand it lightly and treat it with a suitable wood care product such as our wood care balm.
6. A fresh shine: Our wood care balm is perfect for giving your wood a new lustre.

With regular care and gentle handling, your wood will stay in top condition for many years.

Behind every light lies genuine craftsmanship: we make each one ourselves in our workshop in Kiel, from solid wood instead of veneer or foil and with high-quality LED technology with a colour rendering index (CRI) above 95. Every piece is built for you only after you order and is personally inspected by us.

At the same time, we sell directly to you without any middlemen. This way you get workshop quality and personal advice from us founders at a fair price. Our partner, a small family business in Poland that makes our smaller items and canopies, is also paid fairly by us.

Yes, other wood finishes are possible. Simply send us a request with a picture of your preferred finish by email to kontakt@speicherart.de. We will review your request and get back to you personally.

Yes, the LED light source in your SpeicherArt light is replaceable. The replacement is always carried out by us or by a specialist electrical retailer, so your light stays safe and the light quality remains as good as on day one.

We are happy to send you the exact technical specifications of the light source on request.

No, conventional rotary dimmers are not compatible with the LED technology in our lights. That is why we offer our own rotary dimmer switch, which connects wirelessly to your light. This lets you dim your wooden light conveniently and reliably.

Yes. On our pendant lights with uplight, the main light and the indirect uplight can be switched and dimmed separately, both with the remote control and via smart home using the Tuya app.

Yes. The LED profile sits in the solid wood and is topped by an aluminium frame with a frosted glass cover. The frosted glass spreads the light evenly and creates a pleasantly soft glow.

Yes. You connect our smart home lights to your WiFi via the Tuya app. From there, they can easily be integrated into Amazon Alexa and Google Home and switched, dimmed and adjusted in light colour by voice command.

On request, our lights are also available with Zigbee. Just drop us a quick message before you order so we can prepare everything to suit your setup.

Not necessarily. Our lights are prepared so that installation is quite manageable with a little DIY skill, and our instructions guide you through everything step by step.

For the connection to the mains, however, we always recommend a qualified electrician. It is the safest way, and you can be certain that everything is connected correctly.

Yes, that is no problem at all. The canopy of our pendant lights can also be fixed to a sloping or angled ceiling. You simply compensate for the different cable lengths using the height adjustment, so the light hangs level even under a slope.

Yes. If your ceiling outlet is not directly above the desired position, the cable can be routed sideways through a hole in the canopy. This allows the pendant light to be mounted off-centre with a so-called swag, for example centred over your dining table.

The light can be raised right up to the ceiling. The standard cable length is 2 metres. On request, we can make your pendant light with a drop of up to 3.5 m, ideal for period buildings, lofts and high ceilings.

Need even more length? More than 3.5 m is also possible, using a thicker cable. Just send us a message.

Yes, the pendant lights can also be adjusted in height after installation. We offer two different suspension techniques for this:

1. Via two pins on the canopy: intended for occasional height adjustments.
2. Directly above the light: for frequent adjustments in everyday use.

We recommend a distance of around 60 to 70 cm between the tabletop and the lower edge of the pendant light. This lights the table well without glare. In open-plan living areas, it can also hang a little higher.

As a rule of thumb, your pendant light should be 40 to 70 cm shorter than your dining table. That leaves enough space at both ends and lights the table evenly.

If people sit at the ends of the table, go for the shorter option so nobody bumps their head when getting up. Depending on the model, our pendant lights come in lengths from 80 to 195 cm, or in a custom length via the configurator.

If you would like to change or cancel your order, send us an email or call us directly. This is possible as long as your order has not yet been shipped.

Yes, in two ways:

1. Virtual showroom: In our virtual showroom you can see all our lights in one room, just as they will look in your home. Open around the clock, from the comfort of your sofa.
2. Visit the workshop: By appointment, you can also visit us in person at our workshop in Kiel and see the lights up close. Simply call us on +49 (0) 178 579 62 90 or write to us using the form below.

No, our lights are not available in bricks-and-mortar shops. We sell them exclusively ourselves through our online shop, straight from our workshop in Kiel. This way you get your light without any middlemen and with personal advice, directly from the maker.

Yes. We also work with business customers, for example architects, interior designers, hotels, restaurants and offices. Whether you need several lights in a matching finish, custom dimensions or individual lighting design for your project: we make everything ourselves in our workshop and can therefore respond flexibly to your requirements.

Yes. Via the payment provider PayPal, you can pay for your order in instalments.

We give you a 5-year warranty on the LED light source of your SpeicherArt light, free of charge. The statutory warranty also applies, of course.

If anything does go wrong, simply write to us via our contact page. You will be speaking directly to us, the founders, and we will personally take care of finding a solution.

After receiving your order, you have a full 101 days to try out your light at home at your leisure and send it back to us if you don't like it. Please note that return shipping costs are your responsibility.

Once you've returned your order, you can choose between a refund or an exchange. Please let us know your decision directly in your return email.

Once we've received the goods, it can take up to 14 working days for you to receive your refund. We refund to the same payment method you used for your purchase.

Every light is only made for you once you have placed your order. Configured lights usually reach you within 10 to 14 working days. So you do not get something off the shelf, but a one-of-a-kind piece freshly built for you.
